Why An Agile IT wiki

The founder of An Agile IT wiki was Ian Barnes who spends much of his time within customer Enterprise Architecture teams or working with the CIO/CTO to implement IT Strategies.

Most frequently these IT Strategies have included SOA whilst at the same time organisations are starting to concentrate more on Service Management.

Frustration occurs when you keep visiting customers and you see them answering the same questions. This is often because the current EA frameworks and processes give indications of why you need an EA and what needs to be done but how do you go about applying it to a specific organistaion with its own problems. Although every organisation is different problems that occur whilst implementing an EA practice are often very similar.

The An Agile IT wiki is a free Enterprise Services Architecture resource that Enterprise Architects contribute to. All content on this wiki is provided based on real EA experience in implementing within real customers. The content can be freely reused under the GNU Free Documentation License 1.2 (see Project:Copyrights for details).

The vision of this website is to give detailed help in creating Enterprise Architectures and eventually template documents and off-the-shelf best practices.

The aim is not to re-write EA frameworks but to provide the real world experience needed to work with such frameworks.
