Viewpoint
A specification of the conventions for constructing and using a view. A pattern or template which to develop individual views by establishing the purposes and audience for a view and the techniques for its creation and analysis. [ANSI/IEEE Std 1471-2000 Definition]
Viewpoints are a way of looking at a system independently of any particular system. In this way, a set of candidate viewpoints can be created and then these viewpoints are used to construct specific views.
